His Word …

His word is what started everything. It brought all of creation into being. His word formed, molded, created, designed, His word is powerful. His word is what gave us life. But for some reason, man chose to believe a different word. Satan used His (God’s) word to bring death. He is very subtle about it, making sure to use just enough of His words to make it sound authentic, but giving it a little twist. Isn’t that how it always is? We know the truth, we know His word, we know His power, and yet we let someone, something, twist … Continue reading His Word …

The Word …

It’s simply amazing what just one word can do. Just one simple word. Do you know what I mean? Take the word ‘stop’ or the word ‘go.’ These two words can control a massive amount of people. They are so powerful that we don’t even need to use them, we’ve trained our minds that if we see red – we stop and green – we go. We’ve trained our bodies, and even animals, that at a sound we go or we stop. If someone yells “STOP!” everyone stops, even if it isn’t being said to that person. Powerful. Or how … Continue reading The Word …

Words …

Words … its one thing everyone has in common, even those who can’t speak, hear, or see. Words are all around us. We can’t look at something without thinking a word. Even babies grasp the power of words though they can’t form them yet. Their words come out in a jumbled mess of sounds, but don’t miss that they are still using words. And yet, it seems s though words are taken so lightly, tossed around so easily, given very little thought. How many times a day do we say things we don’t really mean, imply things we don’t really … Continue reading Words …

Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas

Great book! I’ll just be putting some quotes from the book on here. But the book is well worth reading. However, I caution you, Mr. Thomas does not pull any punches. You are almost guaranteed to either end up with a black up, or find your self ducking but being very aware of what almost hit you. :o) Chapter 1 – the Greatest Challenge in the World Pg 15-16 – “Romantic love has no elasticity to it. It can never be stretched; it simply shatters. Mature love, the kind demanded of a good marriage must stretch, as the sinful human condition is such … Continue reading Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas

Love and War by John and Stasi Eldredge

These are just a few of the things that are popping out at me as I read this book. Page 31 “Your marriage is part of a larger story, too, a story as romantic as any that has ever stirred your heart, and at least as dangerous. The sooner you come to terms with this, the sooner you can understand what is happening in your marriage” Page 34-35 … “It is a kind of incarnation, a passion play about the love and union between Jesus and his beloved. Which might help you appreciate why the fury of hell has been … Continue reading Love and War by John and Stasi Eldredge
