Nothing really jumped out at me as I read through this day’s praise. Not that it didn’t mean something, but just nothing settled in my spirit. But this morning on the drive into work, we heard the song by Mary Mary, Shackles (Praise You). My son and I were dancing in our seats, I’m sure it was an interesting sight to behold from those passing by. But as I was sing/shouting the lyrics, it dawned on me, this is what many of us say. Just in case you don’t know the song here is the chorus: Take the shackles off … Continue reading 31 Days of Praise – Day 4
Faith, I googled ‘define faith’ and meaning number 1, well, it could strike a chord with many. It says, “complete trust or confidence in someone or something.” And the sentence example it gave? “this restores one’s faith in politicians”. HA! Given what I’ve been seeing on facebook, I’m sure many will get a quick little snort out of that example. Let’s just say it seems like many in America have falling faith at the moment. What do you think? Who is it you completely trust or have confidence in? What is it you have complete trust or confidence in? Come … Continue reading Falling Faith
I was noticing all the scriptures where Jesus say, “O, ye of little faith.” Little faith? Didn’t he say if we had faith the size of mustard seed we could move a mountain? So what in the world would be little faith? There are four places in Matthew where he says this. Let’s take a look and see what we can find out about little faith. This might hurt a bit, sorry, growing can tend to be a little painful. Take a few aspirin and lets get moving. Ready? So in Matthew 6:30-34 we see where God has clothed the … Continue reading Little Faith
I’m not sure there is any word I can think of that has gotten such polar opposite responses when seen in someone. Truth be known, I think the way someone reacts to my faith, says a whole lot more about theirs than mine. Scratching your head at the moment thinking, what in the world is she talking about?! Let’s take a look at some scriptures. He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and … Continue reading Faith Up!
You ever feel like you are in a gap? We often use the saying, “Between a rock and hard place.” But the truth is, we are in a gap, does it matter what is on either side of us? Would it really make a difference? One definition of a gap is: a difference or disparity in attitudes, perceptions, character, or development, or a lack of confidence or understanding, perceived ascreating a problem. The disciples, Martha, and Mary experienced gaps and Jesus had questions to ask about those gap times. In John 11, the scene opens with news of someone who is dear to … Continue reading Jesus asked: John 11
Been an interesting journey the last few weeks as I spent some time asking God to reveal any ungodly beliefs I have. An ungodly belief is a belief that does not line up with God’s Word or His nature. We all have them, sometime we don’t know we do. Over time we have conditioned ourselves or our surrounding have conditioned us, to believe certain things, it happens to us everyday. Take this for an example, if I were to ask you what those little pieces of papers, that pop up out of a box, and you blow your nose on, … Continue reading Jesus Asked: John 9
Jesus wants to know, ” Why do you think evil and harbor malice in your hearts?” Why do we? It never does anyone any good now does it? So why? Why do we think evil? Oh, I know you don’t think evil – that is such a harsh word isn’t it? Evil, I can almost hear Vincent Price saying it. Eeevil. So what is evil anyway? Well if we look up the original meaning it implies hurtful. Ouch, rethinking whether you have had any evil thoughts now? Notice that the people Jesus is speaking to did not say anything. They didn’t share what … Continue reading Jesus asked: Matthew 9:4
