a.      Keywords

  • Breathed (g1720)- emphusaō -to puff; to blow at or on: – breathe on.
  • Receive (g2983) – lambanō – to take (in very many applications, literally and figuratively [probably objective or active, to get hold of;
  • Holy Spirit (4151)- pneuma – the third person of the triune God, the Holy Spirit, coequal, coeternal with the Father and the Son

  • Holy Spirit/Received
    • Mark 9:20 (also Luke 9:39-42)  – A spirit possessed a boy.
    • Luke 23:46 (also John 19:30) – Jesus gave up the spirit on the cross.
    • John 7:39 – Jesus said those believing in him should receive the Spirit. John writes that it hadn’t happen yet because Jesus had not been glorified.
    • John 14:17 – The world can not receive the Holy Spirit because it doesn’t behold and know Jesus.

    • Acts 19:2-6 – Paul talking to the disciples of Ephesus. They had not been baptized to Jesus yet. They got baptized into Jesus name. Paul laid hands on them, they were speaking in tongues {human languages} and prophesying.
    • Romans 8:9-16 – Christ’s Spirit dwells within and testifies with our Spirit that we are children of God.
    • 1 Corinthians 2:10-14 – Did not receive spirit of world, but Spirit of God so that we may know the things of God conferred by God on us, things we speak taught by the Holy Spirit {spiritual things}.
    • 2 Corinthians 11:4 – Referring to different preachings.
    • Galatians 3:2-5 – Spirit supplies mighty acts
    • Galatians 3:14 – Receive the promise of the Spirit through the faith.
