1WHY DO the nations assemble with commotion [uproar and confusion of voices], and why do the people imagine (meditate upon and device) an empty scheme?
2The kings of the earth take their places; the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and His Anointed One (the Messiah, the Christ). They say,(A)
3Let us break Their bands [of restraint] asunder and cast Their cords [of control] from us.
4He Who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in derision [and in supreme contempt He mocks them].
5He speaks to them in His deep anger and troubles (terrifies and confounds) them in His displeasure and fury, saying,
6Yet have I anointed (installed and placed) My King [firmly] on My holy hill of Zion.
7I will declare the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, You are My Son; this day [I declare] I have begotten You.(B)
8Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession.
9You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like potters’ ware.(C)
10Now therefore, O you kings, act wisely; be instructed and warned, O you rulers of the earth.
11Serve the Lord with reverent awe and worshipful fear; rejoice and be in high spirits with trembling [lest you displease Him].
12Kiss the Son [pay homage to Him in purity], lest He be angry and you perish in the way, for soon shall His wrath be kindled. O blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are all those who seek refuge and put their trust in Him!
32So now we are bringing you the good news (Gospel) that what God promised to our forefathers,
33This He has [a]completely fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus, as it is written in the second psalm, You are My Son; today I have begotten You [[b]caused You to arise, to be born; [c]formally shown You to be the Messiah by the resurrection].(A

Oh Lord, many nations are in commotion, uproar and confusion today. It seems there is always something going on in this world. Father, I pray for the individual man to come to you and find your peace and rebel against you no more. The problem with nations is found in it’s territories and the problem in territories is found in it’s cities, and the problems in the cities are found in the neighborhoods and the problem in the neighborhoods is found in the homes and the problem in the homes is found in man – in man’s heart. So I pray for man’s heart to be changed.
Lord, let man see that the bands of restraint that you have placed on mankind are good because you always seek what is good for us. God, you are a just and righteous God! Let your anger and wrath come against those who are unjust and unrighteous. Come to the rescue of those who walk in your ways and are oppressed, pressed down, and persecuted because of your name.
Lord for me for any grumbling I have made against the kings that you have placed in leadership. Forgive me for the grumblings and complaining I have made against any person you have placed in a leadership.
God, I thank you that you have given my Messiah, my Lord, Jesus Christ the nations and the uttermost parts of the earth as His inheritance. Lord I thank you that you will bring justice and righteousness to all.
Father, I thank you for your warnings and your instructions to all of mankind and that you have provided a way for them to be a part of that inheritance, that has kissed the son and been freed from your anger and wrath.
Father, thank you that I have found refuge by putting my trust in Him, Jesus Christ, your son and my savior! In HIS name I pray. Amen.
