Bible … Mirror or Weapon

Take the bible and make a choice, use it in the right way or burn it.

You choose to use it as a weapon instead of a mirror. One way will murder, kill and destroy, the other could change the world.

As a weapon you use it against your son to tell him he shouldn’t drink, as a mirror you would see that you drink, smoke or eat things that you shouldn’t.

As a weapon you use it against your daughter to tell her that she shouldn’t lie, and manipulate others, as a mirror you would see that you lie to and manipulate your daughter.

As a weapon you use it against your grandson to tell him what a man should be, as a mirror you would see you show them everyday what a man shouldn’t be.

As a weapon you use it against your granddaughter to tell her she is beautiful and special to God and should live that way, as a mirror you would see that you tear down her looks and condemn everything she does.

As a weapon you use it against your wife to try to make her submit to you and your leadership, as a mirror you would see that you don’t treat her like you should and that you are no leader.

As a weapon you use it against your husband to tell him what Jesus would do, as a mirror you would see that you are not showing him what Jesus would do.

As a weapon you use it against the TV stations to complain about the cursing they allow, as a mirror you would see that you curse almost every day.

As a weapon you use it against the world to tell them about Jesus and their sins, as a mirror you would see that you do not do what Jesus tells you and you are no different than them

As a weapon you use it to talk so people know what it says, as a mirror you would see that your walk tells them something different than what you just said.

So make a choice, use it as a mirror the way it was intended or use it as a weapon, but if you choose to use it as a weapon, you might as well burn it because unless you use it as a mirror first, it isn’t any good as a weapon!

Just like any other weapon it is useless or dangerous unless you have used it first in practice. So take that weapon and use it in front of a mirror until you have learned how to use it right. You may never be perfect, nor always yield it in the best way you should, but at least those around you will know that you, yourself, are practicing in front of a mirror and may trust you just a bit more when you use it as a weapon.
